I recently stayed at Central City in Kandy for a few days and had a fantastic experience. The owner was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The highlight was definitely the amazing terrace with its stunning view. It was the perfect spot to socialize with other guests. Additionally, the price of the rooms was unbeatable, making it a great option for budget travelers. The location was also perfect, with shops and restaurants just a short walk away.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Located in a convenient area, this budget-friendly hostel offers a nice balcony view and a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious double rooms, although lacking a proper ceiling fan, provide a comfortable stay. The friendly owner is always reachable and happy to assist. The hostel also features a common room on the balcony, perfect for meeting fellow travelers. With hot water in the shower and a peaceful vibe, it's a great place to relax and unwind.
The bathroom and toilet facilities could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.

I stayed at Central City for 4 nights and it was a great stopover during my 6-week trip. The staff were fantastic and always happy to help. The owner and manager were really polite and friendly to us. The private room was clean, and despite some previous reviews, I found the noise level to be acceptable. The communal garden was a nice place to relax and chat with other travelers. The hot shower was a much-needed luxury, and the value for money was amazing. I was even impressed when the owner paid for my tuk-tuk to move to another accommodation last minute. a great experience.
Would recommend this hotel.

central city was a great place to stay in kandy. the location was perfect, just a short walk to the central area. the hostel had everything i needed - clean bed sheets, hot water in the shower, and a western style toilet. the wifi was decent and i was able to stay connected. the owner was very negotiable on price due to a bed shortage, which was very helpful. the staff were friendly and the owner spoke perfect english and was available to help with anything i needed.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like. ✅.
